This is the exciting time in the year were seniors are starting to get their acceptance letters from the universities they applied to. Seniors are ending one chapter of their lives, and making plans to begin their next one. However, it is also a time where seniors need to start looking at colleges they want to apply to. The following are some of the superior colleges that juniors need to give a thought to.

University of Texas at Austin

The University of Texas at Austin is located in the capital of Texas, Austin. UT, as it is informally called, has an acceptance rate of 40.3%, and an enrollment number of 52,059 students. Tuition, based off of in-state cost, starts at $9,789. UT’s white and burnt orange, which is copyrighted, can be seen all across the city and State of Texas. The university recognizes more than 1,000 student organizations, as well as a wide variety of varsity and intramural sports programs. University of Texas is home to an active Greek community such as Alpha Chi Omega, Zeta Phi Beta, Kappa Delta, and Sigma Delta Tau. Nationally, the university is known for their championship football team that has won 4 national championships in ‘63, ‘69, ‘70, and in 2005. This university is widely known for their programs such as communication, journalism, engineering, business, and biomedical sciences.

Rice University

William Marsh Rice University is commonly referred to as just Rice University, or Rice. It is a private research university located in Houston, Texas. In-state tuition for Rice starts at $38, 941. The campus has a number of quads, or gathering areas. The academic quad consists of the administration building, the library, an amphitheater, and numerous academic halls. Another quad has the business school, the music school and The Barker Institute. There’s also an engineering quad and a liberal arts quad. Rice’s school color is blue and gray, and an adorable mascot, Sammy the Owl. University of Texas at San Antonio

The University of Texas at San Antonio is a state research university in San Antonio, and is the largest university in San Antonio. It has become the fifth-largest university in the state of Texas. Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi

Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi is a state university located in Corpus Christi, Texas. The most exciting part about the university is that it is built on its own island, Ward Island. University of North Texas

The University of North Texas is located in Denton, Texas. It is a public school with a wide range of sciences, engineering fields, liberal arts, fine and performing arts.
