What inspired you to join the Spanish club and what led you to becoming vice president?
“My first year Spanish teacher came up to me when it first started and automatically I was excited about the club. What led me to being vice president for the Spanish club is that I’ve always loved the culture and honestly the past three years I’ve been in the club it has always felt like family. A family I wanted to have a part in.”
How do you see the Spanish club making an impact on the school community?
“Really I feel like the club will bring people together. Not just the Latino community but all communities with games, music and much more.”
What has been your favorite event or memory from the Spanish club so far?
“My favorite memory is when the Spanish club got with the Spanish Honors Society and our school did mariachi and karaoke with quesadillas.”
What does being vice president mean to you personally?
“It means not only can I learn more about a different culture but different countries and their customs.”
How has being in a leadership role changed the way you see yourself and your peers?
“Being in a leadership role helps me work on my skills as a team lead, listening to others feedback, thoughts and ideas. Not only does being in such a role open up my mind to different perspectives and creativity but also how the people I’m working with think outside of the box.”
What is one goal you have for the club this year?
“My goal is to reach out more, be more known and grow bigger with meaningful interactions campus wide.”
