During Spring Break, the Judson High School band and color guard traveled to California to visit the Los Angeles and San Diego areas.

While staying in Los Angeles, they hit many of the California essentials: The Grove, Santa Monica Pier, Madame Tussauds, and of course, Universal Studios and Disneyland.

“[My favorite part was] Universal Studios. I really liked the rides there and all the 4D rides. That was pretty awesome,” senior Bradley Babcock said.

The band students even participated in a music clinic Disneyland offered. The students were given iconic Disney music and were directed by a Disney musician.

“It was really cool because I got to play songs that I grew up listening to and I got to play with someone who actually played in the movies,” junior Madison Emler said.

After spending the first few days in the area, they rode charter buses to San Diego. There, they went on a one-night dinner cruise and visited the world-famous San Diego Zoo.

“I thought it was a cool experience because I saw a lot of animals I would not see on a normal basis,” senior Heralio Nieto said.

The students, chaperones, and staff had plenty of fun as they spent time with each other’s company in California.

“[I’m gonna miss] the experience and the amazing quality time I spent with my friends,” junior Eric Wright said.

They shared opportunities, made many memories, and now have another experience to hold onto for the rest of their lives. It was definitely an unforgettable and iconic trip for everyone.
