As underclassmen approach the last months of school, it becomes seniors’ last few weeks of still being a high school student. Here are ten unforgettable things you can check off your senior bucket list to make your last year memorable.
1. Take a walk around the entire school
Since these are your last weeks at the school, take a walk around the halls with music or a friend that helped you get through the years. You can visit old classrooms, just simply walk around or maybe even visit a hallway you’ve barely been in. Just take the time to remember the memories you’ve made in this school.
2. Write a note to your favorite teacher
Take a piece of paper and write a heartfelt letter to your teachers about how much they helped you. This kind gesture is something most students wouldn’t think of and it pushes your teachers to continue teaching during the rough times.
3. Sign everyone’s yearbook
One of the last steps in the school year is to sign your friends or anyone’s yearbook. You can write a thank you letter, a funny quote or a push in the right direction for their future. The message you put in someone’s yearbook is something they will look back on years later and could remind them of the good old days.
4. Attend the senior sunrise with your friends
Wake up bright and early, make sure to bring essentials like blankets, drinks and a snack. Head to the D.W Rutledge Stadium at 6 a.m. on May 22 and watch the sunrise with your 2025 graduates.
5. Take a photo in front of the school sign
Make sure to take a picture in your school attire or possibly a cap and gown if possible. You might feel silly taking it now, but when you look back on it in years to come all the memories will come rushing back to you. It’s good to show off all your hard work and how far you have come.
6. Wear your senior shirt or class colors one more time
Go all out, who cares! Wear face paint that resembles your school colors or just anything that shows school spirit. Rep all your school spirit with Rocket pride, you’ve earned it.
7. Give a genuine compliment every day
After you graduate you won’t see your peers everyday anymore. Say something nice to someone that you’ve never seen or talked to before. You will brighten someone’s day while also making yours brighter as well.
8. Pull a senior prank
A senior prank is one of the most memorable things of the year. To make sure to keep the prank light hearted, keep it fun, creative and harmless. Some possibilities include filling the hallway with balloons or silly signs on teachers’ classroom doors. Something that all will enjoy.
9. Make a playlist of songs
After years of listening to the same music on repeat, make sure to make a playlist of your senior year that takes you back to remember your years in high school. From your first years, to your last. Beginning to end.
10. Recreate an old photo from freshman year
Get the same friends and outfits (or something similar), and do the same poses from your freshman year. Look and see how much you’ve grown since the beginning of high school.
I know right now you might not think it’s important to experience all the senior things, but do it for older you. When you grow up, you’ll grow to miss the thing you once thought you hated.
