If you had one opportunity, what would you change about your high school career?
“If given the opportunity, I would 1000% try to meet more people. I never really got out of my bubble until my junior year I would say, but over the years I’ve met so many amazing people from so many different organizations with so many different backgrounds and experiences. It allows me to remember that we’re all different and unique in our own ways. Also, meeting new people is just fun.”
What song do you relate to the most?
“‘Saturn’ by SZA has been one of my favorites since it came out. I resonate with the lyrics and because it talks about the redundancy, stagnant groove of life and that drive for something more. It’s a really good song despite the lyrics’ meaning. but what I like the most about it though is that it reminds me of the last couple of weeks of my junior year.”
How have the people you surround yourself with affected your life?
“I’m incredibly fortunate to have been surrounded by so many people who love me for who I am these past four years. Being in the marching band especially helped because it was so easy to meet new people who are supportive and it overall helped me ease my way into high school. Surrounding myself with people who were engaged in their academics as much as I was also helped me a lot. It helped motivate me into pursuing higher education in that sense. I absolutely love my friends and I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for me these last couple of years.”
If you could bring one dead person back to life, who would it be and why?
“If I could bring anyone back to life I would choose my mom. I think that having her back in my life would make everything ten times easier and push me further than I already am now. She was my biggest supporter and I loved her with my entire heart. The mother-son bond is just irreplaceable and priceless.”
What is one thing you want to accomplish before you graduate?
“I’ve been thinking about this for a while now and I really can’t think of anything. I’m everything I wanted to be when I was an incoming freshman. Top 10 of my class, one of the drum majors for the marching band, NHS president. Getting prom king would be really cool!”
(Note: Luke was voted prom king on Saturday, April 5, 2025.)
What is a piece of advice you would give to incoming freshmen?
“One piece of advice I would give to incoming freshmen is to know what you’re going to do career wise, and know how you plan on accomplishing that goal. Coming into high school I had no idea what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go even after numerous lessons about different career paths and colleges. Planning these things out before senior year will make life so much easier. Figure out what classes you need to take and then take some fun classes on the side. Find something you love- something you can see yourself doing for the rest of your life, find a good school that offers a good program and offers you a good amount of money, apply to it, and the rest is in your hands to cultivate.”
