Franklin is a junior at Judson High School and a reporter for the school's newspaper, The Fuel. He is a basketball player and previously served as a reporter for Bethel High School in Hampton Virginia. He has written three collaborative articles for his previous school. Franklin balances being a student athlete while also maintaining A-B honor roll.
