Students eat in the large cafeteria of Judson High School. The campus must have 4 lunches to accommodate all of the students.

The students have noticed, and are not happy: lunch has changed. The changes were made for the health and nutrition of all students and faculty attending Judson High School.

The main cause for the change in food and drinks this year at Judson is because the food and drinks that were being served to us was filled with either too much sugar or too much salt. “Our food had way too much salt and sugar,” cafeteria manager Kathy Estrada said.

The main idea for the cafeteria’s standards is to provide fruits and vegetables to the students in their meals. Also, more wheat products are being served to students. The lunch that is served to the students are provided to the cafeteria from the U.S.D.A. and Cisco.

The cafeteria staff makes sure the food is enjoyable to the students. “We make sure we taste the food and make sure it’s good and appealing to students,” Ms. Estrada said. All of the bread and rolls are made from scratch. Judson’s cafeteria is aimed to keep the students healthy and ready to learn with providing us with proper brain food.

The lunch and cafeteria guidelines are not the schools choice, but rather the states’ choice to whether or not we have healthy foods that are good for your body, or junk foods that we also enjoy but aren’t as good for us. The staff works hard all day to make sure we have food in our stomach and work on our mind to keep on task.
