On Thursday, April 18, 2019, the Judson Rockets (9-4) faced off against the Clemens Buffaloes (1-12) at Clemens High School for their last regular season game.

At the top of the first inning, freshman Mimi Thornton hit a single but the rest of Judson’s batters got tagged out to end the top of the first. At the bottom of the first, Clemens hit a single and stole second base to set up another Clemens batter to hit a single. After one of Clemens batters got walked, the following Clemens batter hit a double to allow three players to run in for the Buffaloes’ first, second and third runs of the game to end the first inning with Judson trailing 3-0.

To begin the second inning, senior Melissa Gonzalez hit a single to set up freshman Emily Ayala to hit a home run and got Judson’s first and second runs of the game to end the top of the second. At the bottom of the second, Clemens hit a single but the rest of their batters got tagged out to end the second with the score 2-3.  

At the top of the third inning, sophomore Aliyah Pacheco hit a single to set up Thornton to also hit a single. After freshman Destiny Rodriguez hit a single, Pacheco ran in for Judson’s third run of the game and put Thornton in scoring position. Senior Nyah Chapa hit a single which allowed Thornton to run in for Judson’s fourth run of the game and also put Rodriguez in scoring position. After Rodriguez stole home and Chapa stole third, senior Kadee Luna got walked. After Chapa stole home, the top of the third ended with Judson leading 6-3. At the bottom of the third, Clemens hit a single to set up another batter to hit a single which allowed Clemens to run in for their fourth run of the game, which ended the inning with the score 6-4.

At the top of the fifth inning, junior Kaili Luna and freshman Keely Williams both hit singles to set up Thornton to get walked. After Rodriguez hit a single to allow Luna to run in for Judson’s eighth run of the game, Kadee Luna hit a single to set up Thornton and Rodriguez to run in for Judson’s ninth and tenth runs of the game, which ended the top of the fifth. At the bottom of the fifth, Clemens ran in for their sixth run of the game, which ended the inning with Judson leading 10-6.

At the top of the sixth inning, Rodriguez hit a double but got tagged out along with the rest of Judson’s batters to end the top of the sixth. At the bottom of the sixth, two of Clemens’ batters ran in for their seventh and eighth runs of the game which set up another batter to run in for their ninth run of the Game. Clemens’ hit a triple to allow two batters to run in for their tenth and eleventh runs of the game which ended the inning with Judson trailing 10-11.

At the top of the seventh inning, senior Kellsie Ramos hit a single to set up Williams to hit a home run, which allowed Ramos and herself to run in for Judson’s eleventh and twelfth runs of the game which ended the top of the seventh. At the bottom of the seventh, Clemens ran in for their twelfth run of the game to force extra innings.

To start the eighth inning, Thornton hit a double to set up, Rodriguez to hit a single and put Thornton in scoring position. After Rodriguez stole second, Chapa hit a single to set up Rodriguez to run in for Judson’s 13th run of the game, which ended the top of the inning. At the bottom of the inning, Ayala struck all of Clemens’ batters out to end the game with the Judson Rockets defeating the Clemens Buffaloes 13-12 in their last game of the regular season.
