Sophomore Arajanae Hubbard has always had an amazing voice. She knows it and other people do too. Since the beginning of the year, she was chosen to sing the national anthem at the home volleyball games. Now, she will continuing singing at basketball games.

She thoroughly enjoys putting on a show for the audience.

“I love singing,” Hubbard said. “It’s my life. I do it everyday. I feel happy when I sing.”

Hubbard has been singing since she was little. For her, it comes natural.

“I have been singing since elementary,” Hubbard said. “Third grade was my first talent show.”

She has always had that urge to sing, not really needing the motivation of anyone. Her passion has lead her to get gigs and sing at many events outside school.

“I’ve always wanted to sing,” Hubbard said. “When I was in 8th grade, I got to sing the national anthem at a boxing match. That was the biggest event I ever sang at.”

Especially with interests outside school, students need support. That can come from anyone or anything, from parents to teachers and even friends. Without that support, it can become difficult to continue on with one’s journey. However, Hubbard has one supporter who she holds dearly in her heart.

“My biggest supporter would be my mom,” Hubbard said.

Besides singing, Hubbard also enjoys doing outside activities of her interest.

“I also like tennis,” Hubbard said.

Hubbard knows she has a long road in front of her. However, with such a outstanding talent, there’s no doubt she will progress into something great.
